What is fast breast MRI screening?

This abbreviated screening MRI is recommended for women who have risk factors such as family history of breast cancer or dense breast tissue. While this test does not detect the full range of conditions that a conventional breast MRI can, it is helpful for detecting invasive malignancy in women with dense breast tissue. Like other types of screenings, a fast breast MRI may show non-cancerous lesions and lead to biopsies and other further studies.

Aultman Imaging Services performs the study with and without contrast for optimal views of the breast tissue and any lesions the tissue may contain.

Why get a fast breast MRI screening?

This supplemental screening, paid out-of-pocket, is helpful in detecting invasive breast cancers in women who have dense breast tissue. Although it does not replace routine screening mammography, this test may detect cancers not seen on a mammogram.

If you have an order from your provider and would like to schedule a fast breast MRI screening, please call Central Scheduling at 330-363-6288.

Insurance plans do not cover this type of supplemental screening, and the cost is $250 out-of-pocket.

If you wish to have a fast breast MRI screening, your full payment of $250 will be required before your appointment. A financial counselor will contact you to complete the payment process. If the financial counselor is unable to collect payment prior to your appointment, your appointment will be canceled.
