50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals 
50_Top_Cardio_2018Aultman Hospital was named one of the nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics.™ The study, now in its 19th year, singled out 50 hospitals that achieved superior clinical outcomes in this critical area of hospital care. This is the sixth time Aultman has been recognized with this honor.

For the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals study, IBM Watson Health researchers analyzed 2015 and 2016 Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR) data, 2016 Medicare cost reports, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare July 1, 2013-June 30, 2016 data.

Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award
The Aultman Cancer Center received the 2017 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. Only 16 accredited cancer programs in the nation received this award, which recognizes programs that achieve excellence in compliance to CoC standards and providing the highest-quality care to cancer patients, based on surveys performed from Jan. 1 – June 30, 2017. 

2018 Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Receiving Achievement Award 2018 Mission Lifeline Gold Plue Receiving Achievement Award
Aultman Hospital received the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. Aultman is excited to be part of an elite group of hospitals recognized by the American Heart Association for our quality of heart attack care. 

2016-17 NRC Consumer Choice Award 
For the 21st consecutive year, Aultman has earned the “Consumer Choice Award” and has been named Canton’s “Most Preferred Hospital for Overall Quality and Image” by National Research Corporation. This is the 21st consecutive year Aultman has received the award, making it one of only 32 hospitals nationwide to have earned the honor every single year the award has been handed out. 

2018 action registry award platinum 360ACTION Registry 
Aultman Hospital received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2018. Aultman is one of only 203 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor. The award recognizes Aultman’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that Aultman has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations. 

U.S. News and World Report - Best HospitalsUS NEWS Best Hospitals
Aultman Hospital has been ranked as one of the best hospitals for 2018-19 in Ohio by U.S. News & World Report. The annual U.S. News rankings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care. Aultman Hospital was ranked 13th in the state of Ohio.

Silver Beacon Award for Excellence
The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) awarded a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence to the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Aultman Hospital. The Beacon Award for Excellence — a significant milestone on the path to exceptional patient care and healthy work environments — recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units that achieve this three-year, three-level award with a gold, silver or bronze designation meet national criteria consistent with Magnet Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.

Aultman Health Foundation achieved gold level recognition in the American Heart Association's 2018 Workplace Health Achievement Index. The Index uses science-based best practices to evaluate the overall quality and comprehensiveness of workplace health programs. Aultman was recognized for taking significant steps to build a culture of health in the workplace.

Aultman is proud to be accredited by The Joint Commission, which is the national accrediting body for hospitals and other health care delivery organizations. The Joint Commission mission is to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations.

Magnet Recognition Logo

Magnet Designation
Aultman Hospital received recognition for the third time from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program® for nursing excellence. Magnet recognition is an achievement shared by only 7 percent of hospitals in the nation. Aultman first achieved Magnet status in 2006 and remains the only Magnet-designated organization in Stark County.

National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC)
NAPBC AultmanThe Aultman Cancer Center recently received accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). The NAPBC is part of the American College of Surgeons and is focused on breast health and dedicated to the improvement of quality outcomes of patients with diseases of the breast through evidence-based standards and patient and professional education. We have been NAPBC-accredited since 2011 and reached all of the accreditation standards during our 2017 survey. This accreditation program is voluntary and demonstrates our commitment to breast care at Aultman Hospital.  

Certified Stroke Center
Aultman Hospital is a Primary Stroke Center, certified by The Joint Commission. We were the first hospital in Stark County to earn certification – and the 13th in the state of Ohio. Achievement of the Joint Commission certification signifies that Aultman Hospital provides the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving stroke outcomes.

Gold Seal of Approval Certified for Total Hip Replacement and Total Knee Replacement
Aultman has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® Certification for Total Hip Replacement and Total Knee Replacement. To earn this prestigious Joint Commission certification, which is a symbol of high-quality care and a commitment to providing safe and effective patient care, Aultman underwent a rigorous on-site review in which Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with national disease-specific care standards, as well as with hip- and knee-specific requirements. 

Verified by the American College of Surgeons, Level II Adult Trauma Center
The American College of Surgeons has verified Aultman as a Level II Trauma Center, accredited through 2019, and verified to meet the standards for excellence in trauma care. As a Level II facility, Aultman provides definitive care for injured patients and is committed to trauma education and prevention.
