Make a promise to yourself to get out more in 2025. Staying active and socially connected can help reduce your risk for health problems such as heart disease, depression and cognitive decline. If you’re looking for fun activities and ways to connect with others, check out Aultman Generations.

Designed for community members ages 50 and older, Generations helps you stay healthy through activities, sports leagues and educational programs. Here’s a sampling of upcoming events for winter and spring 2025. For most events, reserve your spot by calling 330-363-6262. For a complete list of events, visit aultman.org/generations and click on the Upcoming Events link to view the calendar.

  • Spring Bowling League at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton. All lanes lead to fun with Aultman Generations’ spring bowling league. This non-sanctioned, short-season league meets at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays from Feb. 4 – April 8. The organizational meeting is at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 28. The cost is $9 per week.

  • Protect Yourself From Scams program. This FREE event takes place at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, in the North Canton Medical Center Health Education Building. Detective Danielle Paciorek of the Perry Township Police Department and Detective Jeff Aynes of the Jackson Township Police Department will share insights on the latest scams targeting individuals and provide tips on how to keep your personal information secure.

  • Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Portland Trailblazers at Rocket Mortgage Field House on March 2. We’ll take a bus trip to see the Cavs’ 3:30 p.m. game. The cost is $130, and reservations are due Feb. 3.

  • Senior Sing. This group is for all seniors who want to meet new friends, laugh a little and sing a lot. Senior Sing, a partnership with Sing Stark, rehearses weekly at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays from March 5 through May 7 in the North Canton Medical Center Health Education Building. The season concludes with a spring concert at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, in the Bedford lobby of Aultman Hospital.

  • “& Juliet” at Playhouse Square. Aultman Generations partners with 2 Gals and a Bus for this Friday, March 14, trip. We’ll go to dinner, then head to the show. Filled with a playlist of pop anthems, “& Juliet” flips the script on the greatest love story ever told and asks the question, “What would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo?” For this program, make your reservations by Feb. 1 with 2 Gals and a Bus at galsnfood@gmail.com or call 330-575-9588.

  • Chicago Rewired at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at the Amish Country Theater. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a casual listener, this tribute show capturing the spirit and essence of Chicago will leave you feeling nostalgic for pop/rock’s golden era. The cost is $35.95 per person. Reservations are due April 4. You’ll provide your own transportation and be seated with the group.

The fun continues throughout the spring! Additional events include a spring craft workshop, National First Ladies Library and Museum tour with an optional lunch at Bender’s, another Cavs game, a Canton Players Guild production of “Newsies” and a Doobie Brothers tribute band concert.

We’ve also planned bus trips to:

  • Petersburg, Kentucky, on April 15-16 to tour the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.

  • Wayne County on April 24 for a day of shopping and dining.

  • Cleveland on May 9 for an “arts and eats” tour featuring a Cleveland Orchestra concert, lunch and a tour of the Cleveland Arts Museum.
