Recipe: Healthy Red, White and Blue Popsicles
It’s time to celebrate the United States’ 250th birthday! Exciting events honoring our nation’s history are being held throughout Ohio in 2026.
And for your own Independence Day festivities, here’s a refreshing patriotic dessert.
Loaded with antioxidant- and nutrient-rich strawberries and blueberries, it’s the perfect healthy frozen treat for kids and adults alike.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 ½ cups strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup blueberries
- 3 cups Greek yogurt, plain or vanilla
- Maple syrup (if desired)
TOOLS
- Popsicle sticks
- Popsicle molds
INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Wash strawberries and blueberries. Pat dry.
-
Slice strawberries.
-
Add yogurt about ¼ of the way up the mold. Place strawberries and blueberries in the mold and arrange them with a popsicle stick. Add more yogurt and berries until the mold is full.
-
If using plain yogurt, consider adding a little maple syrup for sweetness. If using vanilla, no sweetener is needed.
-
Position popsicle sticks in each mold. Freeze until solid, which will take around six hours.
Makes 10 servings.
