Breast Imaging Fellowship Program

The Breast Imaging Fellowship Program at Aultman Health Foundation provides excellent hands-on training in a high-volume, fast-paced dedicated breast care center designed to prepare our fellow for the demands of private or academic practice.

This one-year nonaccredited program is affiliated with the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program, an ACGME-accredited program that has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality training to radiologists for more than 50 years. The Breast Imaging fellow will have ample dedicated training provided by fellowship-trained breast radiologists.

The Breast Imaging fellow will have access to Aultman Health Foundation’s high-quality, state-of-the-art equipment. The program features multimodality procedural capability that will prepare our fellow for easy transition into a procedural role in any future radiology practice.

Examples include upright stereotactic biopsy with or without a lateral arm technique, standard ultrasound guided biopsy and vacuum assist ultrasound guided biopsy, MRI biopsies and radar reflector localizations under digital, tomographic, sonographic or MRI guidance. Artificial intelligence is utilized in our facility to assist with image generation, CAD and reporting, enabling the fellow to learn how to efficiently integrate AI into future practice.

The Breast Imaging fellow will be fully integrated into our multidisciplinary team, presenting weekly tumor boards and daily collaborations with dedicated fellowship-trained breast surgeons and helping with our quality assurance program.

We will also foster the development of the Breast Imaging fellow’s teaching skills. In this position, the fellow is a professor in the radiology residents’ breast section curriculum and will work side by side with residents in the breast care center.

Program faculty are:

  • David Angari, M.D.
  • Colleen Morris, M.D.
  • Jill Schieda, M.D.
  • Michael Soehnlen, M.D.
  • Lauren Hamilton, M.D.

Upon successful completion of this fellowship, the Breast Imaging fellow will be highly competent in all aspects of breast imaging.

We welcome your interest in the breast imaging fellowship program and are eager to provide additional information. I look forward to talking with you about the program.

Sincerely,
David Angari, M.D.
