CANTON, Ohio (Sept. 14, 2023) – Aultman Hospital celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Timken Family Cancer Center opening with a small ceremony for patients and staff on Sept. 12, 2023.

The ceremony, which took place in the building’s lobby, included refreshments, live music, balloons, banners and more to the delight of many patients.

“It looks really nice, everyone is friendly and the parking is easier,” said Kermit Savage, who was the first patient to receive treatment in the new building a year ago. “It’s wonderful, really.”

Aultman’s Timken Family Cancer Center, a $28 million, 58,000 square-foot facility, opened to patients on Sept. 12, 2022. Since then, more than 10,000 patients have been served in over 53,000 patient visits. The center houses around 150 employees. The Freshens Café in the lobby has served around 8,000 cups of coffee and more than 12,000 smoothies in its first year.
