2023 Angels on the Runway to Raise Funds for Hospice
CANTON, Ohio (Sept. 15, 2023) – The Women’s Board of Aultman Hospital is inviting the community to the 2023 Angels on the Runway – Fashion Icons event on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Cultural Center for the Arts in downtown Canton. Proceeds from the annual fashion show event will benefit Aultman Hospice and Grief Services and the Women’s Board Compassionate Care Center.
Led by co-chairs Claudette Hankins and Cathy Wyatt, the evening will focus on fashion, compassion and community support.
Born in Jamaica, Hankins says her journey through different cultures led her to develop a passion for community service. She has spent a significant portion of her career in hospitals and nonprofit organizations, including California’s Aquarium of the Pacific. She has been involved in the Aultman Women's Board since 2007.
“We are thrilled to be spearheading the upcoming Angels on the Runway – Fashion Icons event,” said Hankins. “The event will showcase the latest trends from local boutiques and fashion designers, and attendees will be treated to a special exhibition presented by the National First Ladies Library, adding a unique touch to the evening.”
Wyatt is the owner of the Carpe Diem Coffee Shop, where she’s led the business for the last 20 years. She has also served as chair of the Pro Football Hall of Fame 5k Race. She says her contributions to the Canton Palace Theatre and her current membership with Women's Impact, a nonprofit organization seeking to advance women through leadership opportunities, demonstrate her dedication to enhancing local arts and empowering women.
“The event promises a delightful blend of delectable appetizers, live entertainment, fundraising opportunities, shopping and fashion-forward fun,” said Wyatt.
Tickets for the event go on sale Sept. 15. For more information, visit aultman.org/fashionshow.
