2026 Class Inducted Into the Aultman Hippocrates Honor Society
CANTON, Ohio (Oct. 2, 2026) – Aultman recently honored three local physicians with induction into the Hippocrates Honor Society. This “lifetime achievement” award, created by the Aultman Medical Staff, recognizes physicians who exemplify the qualities of excellence, compassion, integrity and leadership. To learn more about the 2026 inductees and view videos from their patients, colleagues and family members, go to aultman.org/hippocrates.
Congratulations to the 2026 Hippocrates Honor Society inductees:
Albert Domingo, M.D., Obstetrics and Gynecology
For more than 40 years, Dr. Domingo served the Stark County community as an obstetrician, gynecologist and internist, helping to deliver more than 50,000 babies into the world while caring for generations of patients and families.
He earned his medical degree from Howard University in 1982, later completing his internal medicine residency at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Aultman Hospital in 1989.
In 2011, he transformed the former Army Reserve Armory in Canton into a comprehensive women's health center, creating a vital community resource and expanding access to care throughout the region. His professional accomplishments include numerous honors, including Aultman Hospital's Attending of the Year and Surgeon of the Year awards and induction into the Society of Saint Luke in 2012.
Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Domingo mentored future healthcare professionals by serving in leadership roles throughout the medical community. Dr. Domingo was married to his wife, Rosie Mae, for 52 years and had six daughters. Although he passed away in 2024, his legacy continues in the many lessons he taught and patients he cared for.
Walter Scott Stine, M.D., Family Medicine
Dr. Stine earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 1977. He joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating valedictorian of his 1969 high-school class. He completed an internship and two additional years in the family practice residency program at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, D.C. and was board-certified in Family Medicine in 1980.
He served in the Air Force at a number of bases over the years, including Fairchild Air Force Base Regional Hospital near Spokane, Washington, and Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, where he was promoted to major. He joined the Aultman medical staff in 1986, later starting his family practice in Carroll County in 1988. His practice joined Aultman Medical Group in 2015, and he retired in 2023.
Aside from his medical career, Dr. Stine has been an active member of his community, serving as a board member and president of One Way Youth Ministries, The Carroll County Board of Health, the Carrollton Rotary Club and administrative council at a local church, where he also taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He married his wife in 1973 and has three children and 10 grandchildren.
Richard Ziegler, M.D., Internal Medicine
Born and raised in Cleveland, Dr. Ziegler served Northeast Ohio for more than 35 years as a member of the Aultman medical staff. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Ziegler completed an internal medicine residency at Summa Health System’s Akron Campus, as well as a pulmonary medicine residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Dr. Ziegler joined the Canton Medical Education Foundation as an assistant program director in 1982, and he fully retired in 2020. He shaped countless medical students into physicians over the years as a member of the NEOMED faculty, and he was involved in patient care, internal medicine resident education and training, medical student education and evaluation and medical staff duties (committees, activities) throughout his career. He and his wife, Cathy, have four children and eight grandchildren.
