CANTON, Ohio (Oct. 8, 2018) – Aultman is offering free mammogram screenings in Canton and free wellness and cancer screenings for men and women in Carrollton in October.

The mammogram screenings will be available at Aultman Hospital’s Breast Care Center on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 3 – 7 p.m.

The Aultman Cancer Center and Family Medicine of Carrollton will host a wellness and cancer screening event on Friday, Oct. 19. Men’s screenings, including lung, prostate, colon and skin cancer, will be available from 8 a.m. – noon; women’s screenings, including breast, lung, cervical, colon and skin cancer, will be available from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Aultman Carrollton.

“Detecting cancer early can make an impact on your odds of successfully overcoming the disease, and these two events offers a unique, absolutely free opportunity for underinsured people in the Canton and Carroll County areas to receive vital screenings and cancer education,” said Erin Meek, oncology-certified nurse with the Aultman Cancer Center.

The Aultman Cancer Center team will also provide educational information on everything from cancer prevention to healthy eating.

At the Oct. 19 event in Carrollton, the Aultman Working on Wellness (WOW) team will also be on-site, offering free blood pressure checks and smoking cessation information. A certified tobacco treatment specialist will attend the event to discuss the risks of tobacco use and provide information on Aultman’s free “Give It Up” tobacco cessation program.

The Breast Care Center is located at Aultman Hospital – 2600 6^th St. SW in Canton. Aultman Carrollton is located at 1020 Trump Road NW in Carrollton.
