Learn About the Dangers of Distracted Driving at Aultman’s ‘Walk with a Doc’
CANTON, Ohio (March 23, 2017) —Join Aultman on Thursday, April 13 and walk a one-mile loop in downtown Canton during the March Walk with a Doc event.
In case of inclement weather, the walk will move inside the Eric Snow YMCA. This month, Dr. David Mallamaci will lead the walk, which starts at 5 p.m.
This year, Aultman’s program is collaborating with community partners in Stark County. Current partners include AultCare, Mercy Medical Center, the Eric Snow YMCA, the Canton YWCA, Live Well Stark County, Stark Parks, United Way, ACCESS Health, Diatia Juice Bar, Tiqvah, the Pro Football Hall Of Fame Marathon and the Canton City School District. Each partner plays a role in this program and helps support Aultman’s mission of leading our community to improved health.
April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and Dr. David Mallamaci will be discussing ways you can stay safe on the roads, along with the hazards of driving while distracted.
The community is invited to join the educational walk. Please meet in the lobby of the Eric Snow YMCA, located at 420 Third St. NW. If you can’t make it to this walk, the next opportunity to join in on the fun will be Thursday, May 11.
Walk with a Doc is a year-round walking program that operates in communities across America and abroad to encourage healthy physical activity for people of all ages. Aultman is proud to take part in the program to support their mission to lead our community to improved health.
For more information on the Walk with a Doc program, please visit www.walkwithadoc.org. To learn about future Aultman walk locations or for other questions, please contact Aultman Community Wellness Nurse Linda Brunk at 330-363-3381. Or, check out the complete list of events.
