The Aultman Foundation Awards Viola Startzman Clinic With Vicki Haines Legacy Award
CANTON, Ohio (Jan. 23, 2024) – The Viola Startzman Clinic of Wooster, Ohio, is the third annual recipient of The Vicki Haines Legacy Award. The honor is presented annually by The Aultman Foundation (TAF) to highlight a grantee organization whose project enhances the lives of others and displays the excellence of service modeled by Vicki Haines, TAF’s founder and former senior vice president.
TAF staff visited the clinic on Jan. 10 to present the award to Joel Chupp, interim CEO, and Brian Reilly, grants and program outreach coordinator. Vicki Haines was there to bestow the award, accompanied by Rick Haines, Aultman Health Foundation president and CEO.
"We are honored to have been selected for this year's Vicki Haines Legacy Award,” said Chupp. “To have our work recognized by an organization that knows the challenges of providing excellent healthcare and shares our commitment to improving access to care is truly inspiring. We appreciate the support of The Aultman Foundation and the Haines family."
The clinic provides healthcare and seeks to inspire hope to lower-income, vulnerable populations in and around Wayne County. The organization was created in 1995 when community leaders recognized the large number of low-income individuals going without basic healthcare.
Vicki Haines’ valuable years of service and leadership improved communities throughout Wayne, Tuscarawas, Stark, Holmes and Carroll counties, and that legacy continues today.
About The Aultman Foundation
The Aultman Foundation was established by the Aultman Health Foundation in May 2007 to raise and administer funds to support and promote health education and wellness outreach to improve the health of the community. The mission is achieved through targeted grant funding to area nonprofit organizations and the acceptance of charitable gifts to the foundation and hospital. Grant dollars are budgeted annually to support the work of nonprofit organizations that lead our community to improved health, while charitable gifts to TAF are directed for use by generous donors to patient-center services that support the continuum of care of individuals, families and our community. Since its inception, TAF has distributed $2.3 million in grants.
