Within the diagnostic radiology program, one resident can participate in the 15-month Pediatric Pathway from the American Board of Radiology. This pathway allows diagnostic radiology residents to pursue dual certification – full diagnostic radiology board eligibility plus subspecialty certification in pediatric radiology – without extending their residency beyond the standard seven years. After training, a resident in the Pediatric Pathway may choose a fellowship in another subspecialty and/or continue with a traditional pediatric radiology fellowship. All rotations will be at Akron Children’s Hospital.

R1 (1 block)

• Stat/ER/IP X-rays, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy

R2 (2 blocks)

• Ultrasound, Stats, Fluoroscopy (1 block)
• Pediatric Body/Musculoskeletal and Pediatric Neuroradiology CT/MR (1 block)

R3 (3 blocks)

• Ultrasound
• Evening shift
• Pediatric Body/Musculoskeletal and Pediatric Neuroradiology CT/MR

R4 (9 blocks)

The resident will function as a fellow, assigned to run all interdisciplinary conferences.
