Rotation Information

From the time residents enter the Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program, they take part in hands-on learning experiences as they work directly with medical specialists on staff at Aultman Hospital.

First-year residents participate in one full block of orientation, which includes certifications, procedure training, EHR training, team-building activities and much more.

The program schedule includes 13 four-week blocks per year. Curriculum starts July 1.

PGY-2 and PGY-3 block schedules are split into a 2x2 model. The 2x2 model promotes a “clinic first” focus where two weeks of the block are heavy in the clinic and the opposite two weeks are focused on the rotation.

In this model, residents are consistently in the clinic, which creates continuity for our patients. Residents are also able to focus on one setting without having to go back and forth between clinic and rotation.

Additionally, this allows residents to gain skills in how to optimally work as an outpatient family medicine physician. While on rotation, residents are able to focus on their rotation training and consistently work with our specialist faculty.
