The mission of the Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program is to promote an environment of intellectual curiosity that produces exceptional family physicians who provide comprehensive, evidence-based, compassionate patient-centered care.

The Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program, affiliated with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), offers a comprehensive education emphasizing the management and treatment of common problems encountered by family physicians. The family medicine residency emphasizes treating the whole patient, as well as their family, on an ongoing basis. The program offers a supportive environment with a well-rounded faculty. Throughout the residency, the importance of disease prevention is stressed. The ultimate goal is for residents to develop a solid knowledge base in academic and evidence-based medicine, along with the skills needed to be an outstanding community physician.

The Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program is committed to fulfilling the need for primary care physicians trained to practice in any setting. Our program is the ideal setting for residents who desire broad-based training coupled with a focus on treating patients and their families.

Situated in in beautiful Canton, Ohio, Aultman Hospital has received numerous awards and national recognition, including the distinction of ranking as one of the Best Regional Hospitals in Ohio by U.S. News and World Report in 2023-2024. Our association with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) allows our residents access to valuable resources to further enhance their knowledge base.

The Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medicine Education (ACGME). The program was awarded the maximum accreditation at ACGME’s last site visit.
