I was born in Accra, Ghana, and moved to the United States to attend Mount Holyoke, a small women’s college in Massachusetts. After college, I worked as a research associate at Texas A&M Health Science Center in Houston for more than three years. During this time, I volunteered at MD Anderson Cancer Center where I offered beverages to patients. I felt most fulfilled interacting with patients, which led me to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a physician. I later moved to Dominica to attend Ross University School of Medicine but had to relocate to Saint Kitts after experiencing Hurricane Maria. I spent my first semester of medical school on a cruise ship! I am excited to have matched into the Aultman Family Medicine Residency Program. Even though interviews were virtual due to the pandemic, the mutual respect residents had for attendings and vice versa was more than palpable to me, and I knew Aultman would be an excellent place to train. Aultman is my match made in heaven! My time here so far has been amazing. Attendings are patient, approachable and enjoy teaching. I have not lived in one place for more than four years in the past decade, but I already feel at home here. Outside of medicine, I love to try new things and have dabbled in modern dance, lawn tennis, drumming and swimming as an adult (which was both terrifying and fun!). I am currently teaching myself how to play the piano (still figuring out how to play chords!). I also enjoy running (more of walking now!), visiting museums, watching Nigerian movies and making smoothies.
