The Niagara Region in Ontario has been “home” for most of my life; it is where I was born and raised, where I attended university and where I entered the healthcare field as an emergency department nurse. Though I had a passion for nursing, I had always aspired to pursue a career in medicine. I first left my nook in the Niagara Peninsula to attend medical school at Saba University School of Medicine. I studied on the small island of Saba for 20 months (surviving two hurricanes!), and later experienced many regions of the United States, from Missouri to New York City, as I completed clinical rotations. The breadth of medicine, flexibility in career choices, diverse procedural opportunities and longevity of physician-patient relationships drew me to family medicine. Through my peers, I had heard countless great things about Aultman Hospital and its Family Medicine Residency Program. During my clinical rotation here as a student, I was finally able to see for myself what all the fuss was about! Aultman boasts a rich academic program complemented by incredibly warm and affable faculty, residents and staff members. I quickly realized I had found a second home in Canton, Ohio, for myself and my cat, Geoff. I am so excited to be a member of the Aultman team! Outside of the hospital, I love to kayak, work-out with Shaun T, read non-fiction books, learn languages on Duolingo and bake banana bread.
