Get to Know The Aultman Foundation

It’s Giving Tuesday, a day that encourages people to give back however they can. Did you know that Aultman Health System has its own foundation that allows people to donate to areas they feel connected to?

The Aultman Foundation’s (TAF) mission is to raise and administer funds to promote education and wellness programming that improves the health of the community. TAF is made up of three branches: giving, grants and The Women’s Board.

Where Do Donations Through TAF Go?

When you donate through TAF, you “choose your good and change lives” by designating your money for areas that you feel connected to and want to support. Many donors select the general patient fund, which helps to enhance overall patient care at Aultman Hospital. Others designate their gift to a nearby Aultman location, such as Aultman Orrville Hospital or Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.

The TAF website has information about other available funds, including those benefiting Aultman Cancer Center, Aultman Deuble Heart & Vascular Hospital, Aultman Hospice and Compassionate Care Center, the Breast Care Center and the Women and Infants Program. Wherever you direct your gift, you can have confidence that the money stays local and benefits those in our community.

About The Women’s Board

The Women’s Board was founded in 1969 to render services to Aultman Hospital in the areas of community relations and fundraising. The Women’s Board hosts two major events annually, the Angels on the Runway Fashion Show and Angel Auction. Over their 55 years of efforts, these dedicated volunteers have raised close to $30 million to support major projects throughout Aultman Health System.

Giving Back Through Grants

In addition to raising money for Aultman, TAF awards grants to local community organizations and businesses. The application process opens annually in January for groups that assist community members with access to healthcare and mental health services. The goal is to help those organizations that are directly enhancing the lives of our friends, families and neighbors.

“We at TAF are truly thankful for every person who assists in our mission,” said Vi Leggett, chief development officer. “On this Giving Tuesday, we encourage you to donate to a fund close to your heart, share your story or just tell those you know about TAF and our work. We thank YOU for choosing us as your partner in the community.”
