CANTON, Ohio (Oct. 10, 2024) – Aultman Hospital has become the first hospital in Ohio to receive the Advanced Sterile Processing Certification (ASPC) from DNV. The certification affirms an organization’s commitment to excellence in sterile processing departments within the scope of infection prevention and control, surgical services, endoscopic services and related departments. Aultman provides sterile processing services in partnership with Crothall Healthcare.

Achieving certification validates all the effort we have put into this program and to ensuring the health and safety of our patients.”

The DNV ASPC requirements are informed by the guidelines and recommendations of organizations such as the Association of Perioperative Nurses, the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, as well as relevant requirements of the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
