CANTON, Ohio (Nov. 5, 2019) – Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care has joined forces with Goodwill to help patients facing end-of-life care by opening a donation center on W. Tuscarawas Street on the Aultman Hospital campus. For every pound of donated items, Aultman Hospice will receive a set amount to put directly toward the care and comfort of patients and their family members. The center will be staffed by Goodwill employees from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, except holidays.

The donation center is open to the public and accepts housewares and home furnishings, small appliances in working condition, furniture, linens, clothing and other items such as sporting goods, lawn maintenance equipment, costumes, jewelry, toys, wheelchairs and more.

The staff at Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care includes physicians, advanced practice nurses, RNs, LPNs, social workers, chaplains, home health aides and therapists who work closely with patients, families and caregivers to provide the highest-quality end-of-life care. Using services such as music therapy, pet therapy, visits from chaplains and in-house hospice pharmacists, Aultman Hospice meets patients’ emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
