Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Recognizes Integrated Health Collaborative in Inaugural Care Provider Recognition Program

Canton – May 15, 2025 – Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio recently named Canton-based Integrated Health Collaborative (IHC) as one of only 19 national recipients in its inaugural Care Provider Recognition Program. Created in partnership with its affiliated health plans across the country, Anthem’s new program celebrates top performing independent and hospital-owned medical groups across the nation, recognizing those who deliver unparalleled patient care.

IHC was selected for recognition based on key health measures for care delivered to Anthem’s Medicare Advantage members. These metrics include preventive care screenings, immunization rates, chronic disease management, medication adherence and several other health outcomes metrics. Fewer than 5% of care providers in Anthem’s Medicare Advantage network qualified for the Care Provider Recognition Program.

The program is part of Anthem’s commitment to collaboration and active partnership with care providers to create a positive impact on the health of plan members.

IHC is a physician-led Accountable Care Organization (ACO) representing groups of doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers who come together voluntarily to give coordinated, high-quality care to patients. The IHC team of nearly 400 physicians uses technology and a team-based approach to provide healthcare centered around the patient. IHC physician members are working together to coordinate patient care to provide the highest-quality care at the lowest cost while emphasizing the needs of the patients being cared for.

"Receiving the Care Provider Recognition award from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio is an incredible honor for our team at IHC,” said Steve Nam, M.D., president of IHC. “This recognition is a testimony to our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and reinforces our collaborative efforts to improve health outcomes for the communities we serve. We are proud to partner with Anthem in our shared mission to enhance the quality of healthcare while making it more accessible and affordable for our Ohio communities.”

"At Anthem, collaboration with healthcare providers is central to our approach to improving health outcomes and moderating cost trends for consumers," said Angelica Jewett, Medicare president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio. "This program honors Integrated Health Collaborative's exceptional care delivery and the resulting best-in-class quality and health outcomes, but it also spotlights that work as an example for others to follow as we work closely with all our care provider partners in our communities to achieve and enrich whole health for our members in Ohio."
