CANTON, Ohio (July 30, 2021) – As Aultman’s Timken Family Cancer Center goes up on the Canton hospital’s campus, the fundraising efforts have also reached new heights. Thanks to the outpouring of support from more than 1,100 donors throughout the community, Aultman announced today that the fundraising goal of $28 million has been met.

Aultman broke ground on the new cancer center, which is tentatively scheduled for a summer 2022 opening, on May 5, 2021. Aultman Health Foundation invested the first $10 million, the Women’s Board of Aultman raised more than $5 million and support has poured in from other leading local foundations, generous individuals, families and businesses. The Timken Family Cancer Center is named after the $3 million contribution made by the Timken Foundation.

“Each gift and every dollar helped us reach this goal, and we are so grateful to the wonderful members of our community for their generosity and compassion for cancer patients,” said Rick Haines, president and CEO, Aultman Health Foundation. “Cancer touches everyone’s life in some way, and The Timken Family Cancer Center will transform cancer care in our community.”

Aultman has been renovating 13,270 square feet of existing space within the hospital, and the ongoing construction will add 45,000 square feet of new space. When completed, the 58,270-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will advance clinical care, improve patient experience and strengthen community services, helping make care more convenient for patients and their caregivers.
