'We are accountable.' Meet Robert Mullen, head of Aultman Health System

Robert Mullen serves as the president and CEO of the Canton-based Aultman Health System.

He worked with former Congressman Ralph Regula as district director and legal counsel before joining Aultman in 2009. He became the top leader at the health system in July 2024 and oversees multiple hospital facilities, including those in Canton, Alliance and Orrville, and the health insurance provider AultCare.

“I was very fortunate to work 15 years with Congressman Ralph Regula,” Mullen said. "He was a tremendous public servant and embodied what the founders of our Constitution envisioned when they thought of a member of the U.S. House, He brought a lifetime of experiences to the House, and he approached his duties with confident humility. He always advised us to think in decades and not in years when looking at an issue.”

Mullen, who attended American University in Washington, DC, and the University of Akron School of Law, grew up in the Manchester (now New Franklin) area. He is married to Theresa, and they have two adult sons Joseph and Anthony...
