Tips for Healthier Sleep
Follow these tips for a better night's sleep.
Certain measures can be taken to get a good night's sleep. These tips will help you feel more rested:
- Exercise daily, but at least three hours before bed
- Decide on a pre-set bedtime and rise time, and stick to them
- Go to bed an hour or two earlier if you lost sleep the day before
- Do not nap during the day
- Keep your bedroom temperature 60 to 65 degrees
- Make sure your mattress is in good condition
- Take a warm bath
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol and tobacco, especially during the evening
- Avoid worrisome thinking once the lights are off
- After 30 minutes of not being able to sleep, get up and try again 20 minutes later
