Patient Demographics

In 2025, Aultman Inpatient Rehabilitation delivered intense, medically necessary and clinically appropriate services to 903 patients on the Aultman Woodlawn campus. All admissions must meet medical and therapy necessity criteria. The following chart shows the types of injuries or conditions that were treated in 2025. The three most treated diagnoses in Aultman Inpatient Rehab were strokes, fractures and brain injuries.

In 2025, 55% of our patients were female and 45% male. The average age was 76.

Discharge

In 2025, after rehab, 80% of patients were discharged to home, 12% to another facility and 8% to the hospital.

Clinical Excellence

Aultman Inpatient Rehab is focused on the clinical development of our interdisciplinary team to ensure our team can deliver expert and clinically proven rehabilitative care.

Many of our nurses are certified in Rehabilitation Nursing by the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (CRRN), Gerontological Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (RN-BC) and Wound Care Certified. Several of our therapists have specialty certifications, such as Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist, Certified Brain Injury Specialist and Dysphagia Intervention for the Esophageal Zone (DIEZ).

Our patients receive an average of 2.7 hours of therapy per day during their stay, including weekends.

According to a survey conducted in 2025 by Press Ganey, 83% of Aultman Inpatient Rehab patients would recommend it to their friends or family.

Clinical Outcomes

At Aultman Inpatient Rehab, we encourage our patients and families to work together with our skilled interdisciplinary care team to develop an individualized plan of clinically necessary and medically appropriate care.

Our discharge function score indicates that 69.79% of patients meet or exceed the expected outcomes, outperforming the regional benchmark, according to the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDS).
