Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Program promotes individual responsibility and independence.

Intensive Outpatient Therapy is available every weekday from 8 a.m. to noon. Treatment is individualized with options to have accommodations to these days/times with the physician’s discretion to allow those with work and/or school responsibilities to attend the programs.

A client may enter the program as a:

  • Referral from a physician, psychologist, counselor or other community mental-health professional
  • Self-referral

Most insurance companies will cover part or all of the treatment. Insurance verification and pre-certification will be completed prior to entering the program.

Our professional staff works with clients to develop customized, confidential care plans. The staff includes:

  • Medical Director
  • Social Workers
  • Registered Nurses
  • Registered Dietitian
  • Art Therapists/Clinical Counselors

Group therapies allow individuals with common difficulties to come together and discuss their issues in a comfortable, supportive setting. Group members often find that they are not alone and are able to enhance their ability to relate to other people.

Expressive art therapy is also incorporated, which helps those who have difficulty expressing emotions in words.

Opportunities for individual therapy are also available.

Many times, the individuals in the program have family and/or marital stress. Therefore, our programs offer family and marital sessions upon request. These sessions can provide educational information for families and improve communication among family members.

Having a poor appetite and poor nutrition often occurs with many of the mental illnesses. Our programs offer a consultation to the dietitian based on a needs assessment completed on admission.
