EARLY HEART ATTACK CARE (EHAC)
Early Heart Attack Care education teaches you to recognize the early signs and symptoms of a heart attack so that you can be an active bystander and save a life – even if it’s yours!

Learn the Symptoms

  • Feeling of fullness
  • Pain that travels down one or both arms
  • Jaw pain
  • Excessive fatigue or weakness
  • Anxiety
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Back pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pressure, squeezing, aching or burning

Prevent a Heart Attack

  • Learn the risk factors.
  • Understand the difference men and women.

Save a Life

  • If someone collapses, call 911!
  • Perform hands-only CPR.
  • Find and deploy an AED (automated external defibrillator).

HANDS-ONLY CPR
Hands-only CPR performed by a bystander has been shown to be as effective as “conventional” CPR in emergencies that occur at home, work or in public. It works because the chest compressions push oxygen through the body to keep vital organs alive until the emergency squad arrives.

It’s easy to learn this lifesaving skill. There are only two steps to remember:

  • Call 911
  • Push hard and fast in the center of the chest

When someone is in cardiac arrest, their survival depends on a bystander beginning hands-only CPR immediately. Hands-only CPR can double, or even triple, a victim’s chance of survival.
