Children's Emergency Services

The Aultman Emergency Department is equipped to provide quality care to children from newborns to age 18. Our facility includes:

  • Board-certified ER physicians and dedicated pediatric nurses.

  • A Level II verified trauma center, providing care for pediatric trauma emergencies.

  • Pediatric hospitalists, physicians who specialize in inpatient care, available for consultation.

  • A team of child life specialists who are essential in the emergency health care setting for pediatric patients, their siblings and their parents. Providing age-appropriate activities and preparation, child life specialists promote effective coping skills. Aultman child life specialists provide support and distraction activities during medical procedures while incorporating a family-centered care approach. Child life provides opportunities for play and encourages normal development and "fun" in spite of a challenging situation.
