COVID-19 Screening

COVID-19: Signs and Symptoms

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported - ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If you are exhibiting any of these symptoms, have recently been in close contact with someone known to have COVID-19, or if you live in or have recently traveled to an area with ongoing spread of COVID-19, call your primary care doctor. Your health care professionals will work with your local public health department to determine if you need to be tested.

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • Confusion or inability to get up
  • Bluish lips or face

Ask Your Doctor

If you have specific questions or concerns about non-emergency symptoms you or a family member are experiencing, please call your doctor's office for more information.

If You Don't Have a Doctor

If you are not established with a physician's office, you may also use your smartphone, tablet or computer to talk one-on-one with an experienced, board-certified physician using AultmanNow.

Handwashing Guidelines

In order to protect yourself and the community from the spread of COVID-19, please wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. For more information on safe handwashing practices, please follow these steps from the CDC:

  • Wet your hands with clean, running water. Apply soap.
  • Lather your hands with soap. Be sure to cover the backs of your hands, between your fingers and under your nails.
  • Be sure to scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. (Hum the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end twice.)
  • Rinse your hands under clean, running water.
  • Dry your hands using a clean towel, or air dry them.
