Financial Assistance

Under the Ohio Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP), Aultman offers basic, medically necessary hospital-level services free of charge to individuals who are residents of Ohio and whose income is at or below the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.

In addition to the HCAP program, Aultman provides financial assistance (FAP) on a sliding scale to patients who do not have insurance at family income levels up to four times the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

In order to assist Aultman patients with the best discounts available, it is our responsibility to require patients to first apply for Medicaid before receiving approval for a secondary assistance program, such as HCAP or FAP. Due to Medicaid expansion in the state of Ohio, many more people are now eligible for Medicaid coverage. If you have been approved for HCAP in the past, you may now qualify for Medicaid coverage. Please click here, call 330-363-2200 or email the Aultman Patient Outreach department to apply.

2024 Aultman Hospital HCAP Income Guidelines

If you are not an Ohio resident or if you are over the Federal Poverty Guidelines and uninsured, you may qualify for a reduction in hospital care costs under the Financial Assistance Program (FAP). Review Aultman's FAP policyclick here to view the FAP summary, or to apply for financial assistance, please click here

How to Apply

In order for the application to be processed, you must:
