Program

The overall goal of the Aultman Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program is to train highly skilled orthopaedic surgeons who are competent to deal with a wide range of orthopaedic problems. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

The Aultman Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program is located at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. Aultman Hospital has received numerous awards and national recognition, including the distinction of being ranked one of the Best Regional Hospitals in Ohio by U.S. News and World Report. Our association with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) allows our residents access to valuable resources to further enhance their knowledge base.

The orthopaedic surgery residency program includes training in joint reconstruction, trauma, surgery of the spine, hand surgery, foot surgery, athletic injuries, orthopaedic rehabilitation, orthopaedic oncology, amputations and post-amputation care and outpatient clinical experience, as well as non-orthopaedic surgical skills, peri-operative care of surgical patients, musculoskeletal image interpretation, medical management of patients and airway management skills.

The Aultman Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program participates in many community activities and events, including annual sports physicals at Perry, Jackson and GlenOak high schools.

The orthopaedic surgery residency program promotes an environment of inquiry and scholarship, and residents are encouraged to participate in research and scholarly activity at the Aultman Annual Resident and Fellow Research Day, as well as local, regional and national meetings.
