Curriculum

Leadership of the Aultman Emergency Medicine Residency Program actively looks for new and innovative strategies for our interactive curriculum.

During the intern year, the emergency medicine residency curriculum includes emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, intensive care, cardiology, OB-GYN, anesthesia and orthopedics. PGY-2 includes emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric intensive care, trauma, resuscitation and an elective. PGY-3 includes emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, intensive care, administration/ultrasound and electives. Residents have the opportunity to rotate at Akron Children’s Hospital for pediatric emergency medicine and pediatric intensive care. They will experience one month at MetroHealth for a trauma rotation.

On Thursday mornings, our residents have protected conference time. Conferences include interactive lectures, small group sessions, simulation, procedure labs, oral board preparation, ultrasound instruction and EM foundations.
