My higher education began at the University of Florida with bachelor’s in chemistry and zoology. Graduate school entailed a master’s in organic synthetic chemistry. To test my interest in medicine, I became a paramedic/firefighter, where I gained exposure to emergency medicine.
While in medical school, I joined the U.S. Army, becoming a general medical officer and experiencing trauma training during deployments. Following my military discharge, I worked in urgent care clinics. I chose to seek board certification in emergency medicine at Aultman mainly because of outstanding faculty along with helpful and motivating senior residents.
