I chose the Aultman Emergency Medicine Residency Program because of the camaraderie and support I felt from the faculty and other residents. Residency is hard, but working with your friends makes it much easier.
As a Level II Trauma Center, we have trauma surgery, anesthesia, ortho and many other specialists available to support us if needed, but we also have the ability to manage critically sick or injured patients on our own. The nearest children’s hospital is half an hour away, so we have the opportunity to treat patients of all ages in our Emergency Department throughout our training, not just during our pediatrics rotations. We may be a newer program, but our faculty has years of experience managing a residency program, and they are always open to our ideas and suggestions on how to improve the program. Our graduates – and soon-to-be-graduates – are extremely competent Emergency Medicine physicians, and I’m proud to be able to learn from them.
