At Aultman, our volunteers are just one of the many groups that have helped us to lead our community to improved health. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Lois Eastwood, one of our dedicated volunteers and president of the Aultman Orrville Auxiliary.

Where do you live (city/area)?

I live in Orrville.

When did you begin volunteering at Aultman Health Foundation?

I began volunteering in 2005.

In what department do you volunteer?

I volunteer in the Emergency Department, Med/Surg and at the front desk.

How did you decide to be a volunteer?

When I brought my dad in for surgery, the volunteers were always so helpful and friendly. I decided that I too wanted to help people. So I began to volunteer.

What do you like best about volunteering?

The best part about volunteering is helping other people. Helping people is a good feeling.

What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of volunteering at Aultman?

When I’m not volunteering, I like to read, crochet, play cards or games and spend time with family.

Tell us about your loved ones.

My parents and husband are deceased. I have six children, 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. The grandchildren live all over the United States.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that many of your friends may not know.

My first trip on an airplane was to Germany to visit my son. Also, I have a step-son in Australia and a step-daughter and son in New Zealand. There’s more airplane travel for the future!
