At Aultman, our volunteers are just one of the many groups that have helped us to lead our community to improved health over the last 125 years. Today, we'd like to introduce you to one of our dedicated volunteers - Carol Simone.

Where do you live? 

I live in Perry Township, in Canton, Ohio.

When did you begin volunteering at Aultman Health Foundation? 

I began volunteering in May 1996.

In what department do you volunteer? 

I volunteer in the lobby.

How did you decide to be a volunteer? 

I always thought I would enjoy volunteering, and I chose to do it at Aultman Hospital.

What do you like best about volunteering? 

I enjoy helping people. At the end of the day, it helps you appreciate life more. I also look forward to being with my hospital family every Tuesday.

What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of volunteering? 

When my grandchildren were younger, I looked forward to watching them. Now, I enjoy playing games on my computer or bargain shopping.

Tell us about your family. 

I have been married for 53 years. We have two sons and five grandchildren. We love and enjoy them.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that many of your friends may not know. 

At birth, I weighed a mere three pounds and could fit in a shoebox.
