A few weeks ago, we looked at some of the most in-demand healthcare careers at Aultman. Today, we take a closer look at Aultman Health System as an organization. What started in 1892 as a single hospital in Canton has now grown into Stark County’s largest provider of healthcare services, with many locations serving multiple counties.

Aultman Health System is a nonprofit, integrated healthcare organization that includes Aultman Hospital, Aultman Orrville Hospital, Aultman Alliance Community Hospital, the locally managed health insurance provider AultCare, The Aultman Foundation and Aultman College. There are also dozens of satellite facilities throughout the region that are part of the Aultman family.

Here’s a quick overview of the various entities and locations that make up the Aultman system.

Aultman Hospital serves as the main campus of our health system. Located in Canton, our teaching hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and has been committed to our community since 1892. 

There are also two entities located on the main campus of Aultman Hospital: Aultman Deuble Heart & Vascular Hospital and Aultman Cancer Center.

• Aultman Deuble Heart & Vascular Hospital (ADHVH), the cardiovascular specialty hospital of Aultman Health System, was established in 2020. ADHVH employs the largest group of board-certified cardiologists in Stark County, with locations in eight counties. 

• Aultman Cancer Center fulfills a vital need in our community, bringing all cancer specialists and services together into one place. The state-of-the-art center features family respite areas and gardens to promote wellness and comfort along with a modern design to enhance collaboration between healthcare team members.

Aultman Orrville Hospital (AOH) is a 25-bed critical access facility that has served the Wayne County community for more than 70 years. AOH provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services including diagnostic testing, obstetrics, medical/surgical care and emergency services.

Aultman Alliance Community Hospital has provided a full range of inpatient and outpatient services to Alliance and the surrounding communities since 1901. The 204-bed facility is Planetree-affiliated, taking a holistic health approach, caring for mind, body and spirit.

AultCare is the largest hospital-based preferred provider organization in Ohio, with more than 500,000 enrollees from over 2,100 employers. AultCare offers health plans for individuals and families, along with Medicare Advantage plans for seniors.

The Aultman Foundation provides grant funding to area nonprofit organizations that focus on health, education and human services.

Aultman College is Northeast Ohio’s only health system affiliated institution of higher learning with a goal to prepare students to become successful practitioners and leaders in the healthcare field. The college offers several associate and bachelor’s degrees, the BSN completion program, the College Credit Plus program for high school students and community education courses. 

Aultman Medical Group (AMG) is made up of hundreds of providers dedicated to the betterment of the health and well-being of our patients, communities and health system. There are dozens of AMG provider practices located in our region.
