Aultman Weight Management Patient of the Month: Stacey Weaver
If one of your goals is to be healthier, we would like to provide some inspiration by introducing you to Stacey Weaver, the Patient of the Month for Aultman Weight Management.
Which program did you participate in?
I participated in New Direction.
How much weight have you lost?
I’ve lost 90 pounds – and have been maintaining for two years!
What made you decide to begin this weight loss journey?
I wanted to improve my health and the way I was feeling. I also wanted to set a good example for my children by eating right and living an active lifestyle. I can’t expect them to be active, make good food choices and be a mindful eater if I’m not willing to do it also.
What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge is binge eating – especially sweets. I don’t buy and keep certain foods in my house. It’s just easier for me to not have that temptation.
What’s your favorite part about your experience at Aultman Weight Management?
I love the free membership to the fitness facilities. I didn’t take advantage of it at the beginning, but now I go five days a week and hate when I miss a day.
What advice do you have to those thinking about joining the program?
Give it 100 percent and take advantage of every part of the program – and you will have success.
What words of wisdom do you have for anyone currently going through a weight loss journey?
Losing weight was easy for me. Maintenance is the hard part. I check in once a month to stay accountable and keep healthy food options available ready to grab and go. I always keep protein bars with me for emergencies, and planning ahead has helped my weight loss and maintenance the most!
