New Aultman College Offerings For 2017
From its inception 125 years ago, Aultman Hospital has recognized the need for a qualified and educated staff of health care professionals. In 1892, the Aultman Hospital Training School for Nurses opened in the newly built hospital to meet this need in our community. The first class of nurses consisted of three students. However, only one student, Emma Lupher, actually completed the program.
Since the graduation of its first student, Aultman College has built a long legacy of preparing exceptional health care professionals. Sharing a campus with Aultman Hospital, Stark County’s largest hospital and the area’s only Magnet designated facility, Aultman College is northeast Ohio’s only health system affiliated institution of higher learning.
Continuing the mission of preparing students to enter into the health care field, Aultman College is proud to offer extensive opportunities for students looking to embark on their education journey. Some key highlights to note:
- Aultman College’s associate degree in radiography follows a step-by-step curriculum with required courses available during select semesters. Graduates of Aultman College’s 65-hour AASR program are prepared to sit for the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The deadline to apply for the college’s radiography program for fall is Feb. 1. If you have questions about the program, or to learn more, click here.
- Beginning fall 2017, the college is offering two new degree programs, a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) and a bachelor of science in health sciences (BSHS) with concentrations in health education and health care administration.
- Aultman College Corporate and Community Education courses are open to the public at affordable prices. With personalized instruction that focuses on the individual needs of each learner, there are opportunities available to meet your needs. Learn to be a lifesaver when you register to attend one of the college’s CPR& First Aid Classes, or simply work to reach your personal health and wellness goals when you register for a FUN exercise class.
- An open house at Aultman College is a great opportunity to learn about the current degree programs available. If you have questions or would just like more information, visit the college during one of their featured open houses on Feb. 20 at 2 p.m., March 13 at 6 p.m. or April 15 at 10 a.m. Tour the college facilities and classrooms, meet faculty and staff, and view presentations about health care careers. As a bonus, if you apply at the event, your fee will be waived. For more information or to register, click here.
