Winter Fun With Aultman Generations
Whether attending a ballgame, taking a day trip, sampling different kinds of tea or learning something new with Aultman Generations, Dottie Spencer has had a wonderful time.
“You can have a lot of stress-free fun while leaving all the details to Generations. For the bus trips, once you get to the pickup location, you don’t have to worry about driving or parking,” Dottie said. “Each event is well organized, and the people are so friendly. You feel welcome and safe. You may just meet a new friend!”
Dottie has been a member of Generations for about three years. She joined because of friends who highly recommended the program.
“I’ve learned so much through the educational classes, and I highly recommend the tours and trips,” she said. “Everyone gets along and we have fun together. You cannot go wrong with Aultman Generations. They are top-notch!”
Aultman Generations has plenty of activities planned for this winter and spring that appeal to a wide range of interests. For complete details, visit aultman.org/generations and click the Upcoming Events tab.
Here is what Generations has to offer over the next few months.
Sports
The Generations group has planned two trips to see NBA action with the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Arena. As the weather turns warm, Generations will travel to Progressive Field for Cleveland Guardians games.
For those who enjoy friendly competition, Aultman Generations is holding a winter/spring bowling league. It will meet weekly on Tuesday mornings from Jan. 13 through March 24 at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton.
Cooking and Information Sessions
Meet new friends and learn something new with Aultman Generations’ workshops. This year’s winter and spring programs will feature techniques for making delicious air fryer recipes, strategies for cultivating positivity and resilience and advice for protecting yourself from scams.
Culture
Aultman Generations will travel to Playhouse Square to see “The Sound of Music” in April. Closer to home, they will enjoy the Players Guild Theatre’s performance of “Matilda” and take a private guided tour of the National First Ladies Library and Museum in Canton.
Aultman Generations members also have an opportunity to unleash their creativity at a craft workshop at Brewtifully, painting an abstract bunny.
And for those who love to sing, the Senior Sing group rehearses weekly on Wednesday mornings from March 4 through May 13 for a concert in the Bedford lobby of Aultman Hospital on May 14. Senior Sing is a partnership of Sing Stark and Aultman Generations.
Membership in Aultman Generations is free. Designed for community members ages 50 and older, Generations helps keep you healthy and active through activities, sports leagues and educational opportunities. Visit aultman.org/generations to join the group, view the activity schedule and sign up for events. You may also call 330-363-6262 to register for events.
