Join in the Great American Smokeout
Today is the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout, an annual event that takes place the third Thursday of each November. This event encourages smokers to make a plan to quit smoking.
According to the American Cancer Society, even though smoking rates have dropped in recent years, about 32 million Americans still smoke cigarettes, and more than 16 million live with smoking-related disease. Tobacco use is the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the world.
