Generations Fall 2025 2
08/08/2025

Fall Into Fun With Aultman Generations

Tomorrow is National Bowling Day! Observed annually on the second Saturday in August, National Bowling Day encourages everyone to try their hand at this popular indoor sport. A low-impact workout for people of all ages, bowling offers an opportunity to develop strong connections, engage in friendly competition and stay active regardless of the weather.

Aultman Generations hosts fall and spring bowling leagues. Led by Maryellen Coneglio and Carmen Swihart, the fall 2025 league will run weekly at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18, with a celebratory banquet on Nov. 18. The organizational meeting will be held Sept. 9. The cost is $9 per week.

Generations member Lexie Hines has participated in the league for about three years. She joined to get out and meet new people. “Everyone in the group is fun and great to be around,” she said. “I’ve developed good friendships through the bowling league.”

Lexie also enjoys the low stakes of this nonsanctioned league. “We’re there for fun, so it’s not an intense competition,” she said. “And the people who run it are wonderful and friendly. They talk to everyone and are so supportive.”

A bowling league isn’t all that Aultman Generations has to offer. Designed for community members ages 50 and older, Generations helps people stay healthy and active through activities, sports leagues and educational opportunities.

Here’s an overview of autumn and holiday events for 2025. For a complete calendar with more details, click on the Upcoming Events link at aultman.org/generations.

  • Trips. Generations’ one- and two-day trips over the next four months have something for everyone, whether you love dining out, seeing shows or exploring nature. Planned outings include Explore City Tours in Canton (three hours); Patterson Fruit Farm in Chesterland; Gettysburg and a performance of “Noah” at Sight and Sound Theatres in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Dickens Village in Cambridge; Bethlehem Cave, Nativity Museum and Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron; and two different Cleveland trips: one to see the Cleveland Orchestra and one to visit the Cleveland Botanical Gardens and Wild Winter Lights at the Cleveland Zoo.

  • Senior Sing. Presented in partnership with Sing Stark, this group is for all seniors who love to sing and are looking for a fun way to connect with others. The group will rehearse weekly at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays at the North Canton Medical Center Health Education Building, Sept. 10 through Dec. 3. Senior Sing will present a holiday concert at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Bedford lobby of Aultman Hospital.

  • Arts and crafts. The art workshops offer a chance to unleash your creativity and make something beautiful to keep or give away. Three different projects are planned in the next few months: a leaf collage and personalized doormat for fall décor, a bowl using techniques from the Japanese art of Kintsugi and holiday decorations including a tea light, tree and ornament.

  • Educational workshops. These learning programs explore ways to stay healthy and safe. Planned topics for fall 2025 include stroke, prescription medication safety and smart driving strategies.

Lexie encourages everyone to join Generations. The events are such high-quality experiences that she can’t pick a favorite. “I’ve loved everything I’ve done with Aultman Generations,” Lexie said. “It’s a wonderful group of people getting together to have a good time.”

Membership in Aultman Generations is free, and one of the perks is local discounts. Many Generations activities have fees. For more details or to sign up for the program, visit aultman.org/generations. Call 330-363-6262 to register for events.
