The Aultman Cancer Center, located on the first floor of the main hospital, recently underwent a renovation that provides added space and comfort.

Previously, that area of the cancer center housed two physician practices: Aultman Medical Group Hematology & Oncology and Morningstar Hematology & Oncology. Patients and their loved ones often had to cram into the single waiting area. “Our waiting space now provides separate areas for our AMG Hematology & Oncology and Morningstar practices,” said Tina Biasella, vice president of cancer services. “The change results in more space and improved patient flow.”

In addition to providing more room, the new waiting areas offer a comforting atmosphere. “The walls feature cheerful colors, and we’ll be adding artwork to the walls soon,” Tina shared. “We also have soft music playing to enhance the calming atmosphere.”

The AMG office includes a new check-in and check-out process to provide better flow, two additional infusion therapy spaces and one more exam room.

“These changes will improve the patient and visitor experience as we work toward our ultimate goal of consolidating cancer services into one area, a large construction project that is still in the design phase,” Tina explained. “The Aultman Cancer Center team diagnoses and treats about 1,500 cases each year, and we’re always looking for ways to enhance the care and comfort we provide.”
