Aultman Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program

The Aultman Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, affiliated with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), provides education and training in patient-centered care governed by leadership, scholarship and teaching that will produce highly trained, compassionate orthopaedic surgeons.

The Aultman Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), offers a supportive environment with a well-rounded faculty. The ultimate goal of Aultman’s five-year Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program is to help our residents develop a solid knowledge base in academic and evidence-based medicine, along with the necessary skills to be an outstanding orthopaedic surgeon.

The Aultman orthopaedic surgery residency curriculum includes a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services designed to provide a well-rounded orthopaedic education. Residents receive the majority of their training at Aultman Hospital but also complete rotations at Grant Medical Center, Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, Summa Health System Akron, Ohio Specialty Surgical Suites LLC and Kettering Health Network/Grandview Medical Center. Many faculty are graduates of the program and are committed to providing the best orthopaedic surgery education possible.

Aultman Hospital is a 1,032-bed tertiary hospital that has expanded in cardiac, emergency and obstetrical services. Aultman has achieved national recognition for outstanding clinical care. Aultman offers a resident-friendly educational setting and seeks to provide individualized resident educational goals within an outstanding overall education. The faculty and staff of the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program work closely with colleagues and residents in Family Medicine, OB-GYN, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Emergency Medicine and Cardiology and participate in joint teaching conferences.

I look forward to discussing with you the educational opportunities our program has to offer.

Best regards,

Jeffrey M. Cochran, D.O., FAOAO
Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program Director
