Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Program promotes individual responsibility and independence. Intensive Outpatient Therapy is available every weekday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

A client may enter the program as a:

  • Referral from a physician, psychologist, counselor or other community mental-health professional
  • Self-referral

Most insurance companies will cover part or all of the treatment. Insurance verification and pre-certification will be completed prior to entering the program.

Our professional staff works with clients to develop customized, confidential care plans. The staff includes:

  • Medical Director
  • Art Therapists/Clinical Counselors
  • Psychiatrist

Group therapies allow individuals with common difficulties to come together and discuss their issues in a comfortable, supportive setting. Group members often find that they are not alone and are able to enhance their ability to relate to other people.

Expressive art therapy is also incorporated, which helps those who have difficulty expressing emotions in words.

Opportunities for individual therapy are also available.

Many times, the individuals in the program have family and/or marital stress. Therefore, our programs offer family support sessions upon request. These sessions can provide educational information for families and improve communication among family members.

  • Stress Management
  • Assertiveness Techniques
  • Self-Esteem Training
  • Lifestyle Management
  • Mental Illness Education
  • Medication Education
  • Addictive Behaviors
  • Community Resources
  • Anger Management
  • Relaxation Techniques

The Intensive Outpatient Program is located on the third floor of Aultman Hospital's Physician Office Building located at 2600 Tuscarawas Street SW, in Canton. To leave a confidential voice-mail message or learn more about the program, call 330-451-2070.
