At Aultman, our volunteers are just one of the many groups that have helped us to lead our community to improved health over the last 125 years. Today, we'd like to introduce you to one of our dedicated volunteers – Lynn Grovemiller.

Where do you live? 

I live in the Meyer’s Lake area in Canton, Ohio.

When did you begin volunteering at Aultman Health Foundation? 

I began volunteering about seven years ago after retiring from Dr. Mark Stachel’s office.

In what department do you volunteer? 

On Wednesdays, I work in the Generations office. I greet customers, answer phones and assist wherever I am needed. I am also a baby “cuddler” on Thursdays in the NICU. 

How did you decide to be a volunteer? 

I enjoy being around people. After I retired, I realized I missed having things to do and people to talk to, so volunteering seemed like a good option.

What do you like best about volunteering? 

I actually volunteer at a variety of places. I just enjoy being out in the community and feeling like I have purpose. It also helps me keep my brain working! 

What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of volunteering? 

I love reading fiction, riding my bike on the many trails in the area, golfing at Oakwood in North Canton and traveling.

Tell us about your loved ones (parents, spouse, children, grandchildren). 

I am married to my husband, Dan. We have three children and five grandkids.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that many of your friends may not know. 

Dan and I are avid world travelers. We recently went to China for 10 days, and we have plans to visit Iceland this fall.
